Robert Sands Frearson was the 12th child of Alfred Frearson, Bootmaker and Storekeeper of Kent Town, and his wife Frances (nee Holmes).
Directories of Adelaide from the late 1800s record R.S. Frearson variously as a bookseller and stationer, and later as a publishing and advertising agent. In 1885 he occupied premises at 66A King William street, and in 1900 at 24 Industrial Chambers, King William street. In 1890 his premises are recorded as Rundle street, so the guide date of c1890 for this publication is
very approximate, as this little souvenir volume may have been sold by him during the 1880s, or as late as c1900.
