FEATURED MAPCO AUSTRALIAN MAP |
~ Plan Of Sydney With Pyrmont, New South Wales; The Latter The Property Of Edwd. Macarthur Esqre. Divided Into Allotments For Building. 1836. ~ |
|
This map of Sydney was printed by J. Basire, London, and is taken from:
The Report From The Select Committee On Transportation Together With The Minutes Of Evidence, Appendix and Index.
The House Of Commons ordered this map to be printed on 14 July 1837.
This particular copy of the Plan of Sydney and Pyrmont was thought to have been destroyed in an office fire in London in April 2007. However, the map miraculously emerged from the inferno completely unharmed!
It is a pleasure to be able to display this rare antique map of Sydney on the MAPCO website.
